Manchester Bee Case
The Kitkase team are proud Mancunians and genuinely feel lucky we get to call this great City 'home'. We're always looking at ways in which we can give something back to the City, and the wider North West.
It all started when Kitkase were approached to sponsor the GM Bee Ball, an event organised by acting Officers from Greater Manchester Police who were part of the investigation following the Manchester Bombing on May 22nd 2017. The purpose of the GM Bee Ball, which was held at Lancashire County Cricket ground on the 23rd March 2018, was to raise money to support the survivors and families of this tragic event. Whilst Kitkase were honoured to become an official sponsor and attend ourselves, we wanted to do more than this. So we came up with the idea of creating a Manchester Bee case and offered to design and manufacture 100 limited edition cases entirely at our cost. ALL sale proceeds (in excess of £8,000) from the 100 cases went towards the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
After receiving lots of positive support from celebrities and the general public on social media (big thanks to all our celebrity supporters) Kitkase decided to release the case on general sale. As a new business with limited resources this was no small undertaking. At the same time we wanted to ensure the cases have a positive impact on the great City we live and work in. Kitkase worked closely with Manchester City Council and were granted permission to officially use a version of the Manchester Bee. We also engaged with The Lord Mayor of Manchester's Charity - We Love Manchester*. Following positive discussions Kitkase have agreed to donate 25% of profits from sales of the Manchester Bee case to the We Love Manchester charity.
